Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on 17 April 1972. William John Garner worked as the chemist of Union Carbide. Patricia Ann, her mother taught at a nearby college. She worked at a restaurant as well as appearing in Broadway plays. Her first husband Scott Foley met her on the television show "Felicity," where she was a guest. Garner made her debut in Alias which is an action-thriller. Her first major role was the widely-praised romance 13 Going on 30. The film featured her as a teenager trapped inside a 30years old body. Garner selected Gary Winick, who directed the movie. She and Winick worked together to find other projects after the death of Winick. in 2009 Garner was named an artist ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. The program focuses on education, nutrition, and literacy as well as early education. Since 2014, Garner has been a member of the trustees' board of this group, promoting early childhood education. She has been visiting families throughout Early Steps to School Success the program created for parents to learn how to support their child's development - and act as an advocate.
